A regional research institute in Norrbotten, northest part of Sweden

Future Eco is a regional research institute with both public and private members. We work with applied research close to implementation and work for a sustainable business and society.

We act as a centre for expertise within the processing of residual and waste products, as well as the development of manufacturing processes. We facilitate new and sustainable innovation through collaboration and business development.

BioKolMet - Optimization of a New BIOCHAR Process for the Metallurgical Industry

The BIOKOLMET project (Optimization of a New BIOCHAR Process for the Metallurgical Industry) aims to improve the energy efficiency of the biochar production process developed by Harads Arctic Heat. The demand for biochar within the Swedish metallurgical industry has been documented in several roadmaps developed under the framework of the initiative Fossil Free Sweden.
